A website for a garment factory in Gazipur, Savar or Ashulia
Gazipur, Savar and Ashulia hold most of the factories a buyer will compare when they look for a Bangladeshi garment supplier. This page puts dated numbers on that crowd, explains what each area means for a factory website, and lists what to gather before you build one. It is written for factory owners in these areas.
The three areas in numbers
These are the most recent counts we could verify. They come from different sources and dates, and each source draws the area its own way, so read them as a sense of scale rather than an exact census.
| Area | Garment factories | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Gazipur (BGMEA groups it with Mymensingh) | 854 listed; 851 had reopened after Eid | BGMEA statement, data as of 9 April 2025 |
| Savar, Ashulia and Jirani | 403 listed; 399 had reopened | BGMEA statement, data as of 9 April 2025 |
| Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ), inside Savar | 86 in the old and extended zones | A BEPZA official, 3 September 2024 |
| Savar, Ashulia, Dhamrai and Gazipur together | 1,294 | BGMEA data, reported 10 September 2024 |
The April 2025 statement also lists other regions, and its regional figures do not add up to its national total of 2,024 BGMEA factories. It does not explain the difference, so treat the numbers as approximate.
Gazipur: the biggest crowd
BGMEA’s Gazipur and Mymensingh group is about twice the size of its Savar, Ashulia and Jirani group (854 against 403 listed factories). A buyer shortlisting suppliers around Gazipur is choosing between many factories that look alike on paper. For your website this means the first screen has to answer four things at once: who you are, where you are, what you make, and what proof you can show.
Savar and Ashulia: two groups in one area
Savar also holds the Dhaka Export Processing Zone, which BEPZA runs. A factory inside the zone and a factory outside it sit under different bodies, so a buyer needs to know which one you are. If you are in the zone, say so and name the authority you are registered with. If you are outside it, say which association you belong to and show your membership details. BGMEA lists Savar, Ashulia and Jirani as one group, so use every place name a buyer might type for you.
A tighter market makes every enquiry count
Prothom Alo reported on 6 July 2026 that, in the first six months of that year, 80 BGMEA member factories dismissed or retrenched 19,188 workers: 40 in Gazipur, 22 in Savar and Ashulia, and 18 in Dhaka. Of the 80, 27 had since shut down. We do not know the causes. What it shows is that a buyer has plenty of choice, so a factory that is easy to verify and easy to contact has an advantage.
Match your listings to your website
The Export Promotion Bureau runs a public Exporter Database. An exporter’s page there shows the factory address, thana and district, HS codes for the products, and a business contact. SourceReady also points buyers to the BGMEA and BKMEA member directories. Buyers who find you in one place will check the others, so keep everything consistent:
- The same company name, spelled the same way, on your website and in every listing.
- The same factory address, with the thana and district.
- Only the HS codes and product categories you really export.
- A contact person and a phone number or email that someone answers.
A simple site for a factory
This is the structure we suggest. It is our own recommendation, built around the checks in what overseas buyers check before they reply.
| Page | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Home | Who you are, where you are, what you make, and one clear way to contact you. |
| Products and capacity | Product categories and a capacity range you can stand behind. |
| Factory | Real photos of your floor, your address and a map location. |
| Certificates and compliance | Each certificate with its issuing body, number and validity dates, plus your RSC status and audit dates if you have them. |
| Contact and RFQ | A form that collects what a buyer needs to quote, a working email and WhatsApp number, and your reply time. |
What to gather before we start
- Copies of your trade licence and TIN details.
- Each certificate’s issuing body, number and expiry date.
- Whether you are covered by the RSC, and the dates of your recent audits.
- Your product categories and the capacity range you will stand behind.
- Ten to fifteen real photos of your factory floor and products.
- Your address with the thana and district, and a map pin.
- A contact person, a reply time you can keep, and the languages you want.
Getting started without a trip to a meeting
We work by phone, WhatsApp and video call, so you do not need to take time out for a meeting. The first step is a free 15-minute call. Then we write the scope and a fixed price down before any work starts. Our exporter website package is listed at ৳80,000 (pilot price), excluding VAT, and takes about 14 days. See the exporter website package and the glossary for terms like RFQ and HS code.
What we have not done yet
We have not yet built a client site for a factory in these areas. Our live work is the website and supplier portal for Sleek Apparels, a garment company in Dhaka that our founder runs. The other projects on our work page are labelled concept projects. This page is a checklist and a plan, not a case study.

Common questions
Which area name should I use on my website?
Use the names buyers and directories use for you: your thana and district as they appear on your Export Promotion Bureau listing, plus the area names people search for, such as Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia or Jirani.
I am inside the Dhaka Export Processing Zone. Does anything change?
Say clearly that you are in the zone and name the authority you are registered with, written as it appears on your documents. Buyers need to know which body you fall under.
Do you build in English or Bangla?
Exporter sites are English-first, because the buyers are overseas, and Bangla can be added if you want it.
How much does it cost and how long does it take?
The exporter website package is listed at ৳80,000 (pilot price), excluding VAT, and takes about 14 days. Your final price is fixed in writing after a short call.
Can a website promise me more orders?
No. A website makes your evidence easy to check. It cannot promise orders, and we do not claim results.
Do I need to come to Dhaka?
No. We work by phone, WhatsApp and video call.
